In my slow transition back into writing more regularly, I am answer questions from some awards that I was nominated for. I was nominated for this one by Karen from ‘Simple Life, Happy Thoughts.’ You want to go and read her thoughts – this gem makes me so happy.

The questions I’ve been asked to answer areeeeee:

1. What is one book you’ve been wanting to read for a long time, but haven’t gotten to it yet?

Radical, by Maajid Nawaaz. I’ve purchased the book and it comes with me almost everywhere I go, but I have gotten around to actually reading it. Maajid Nawaaz is a super interesting character – very controversial but intriguing. He’s an Englishman who was arrested in Egypt for his radical views and has worked his way in life into starting a think tank called Quilliam. I’ve read through the first quarter of it and it’s a gripping read. I’ve just been so strapped for time. Maybe I’ll let y’all know how I feel about him once I finish reading the book.

2. Where in the world do you want to travel to the most and why?

England! I don’t even know why – I can’t tell you what it is. There is something about Cambridge and Oxford and London and the Queen that is so romanticised in my head. I’m sure I’ll end up there one day.

3. What’s your dream job?

That’s a great question – I’m not sure yet. I want to do something that allows me to continue to make people feel connected to who they are and the rest of the world. I am happiest when I am teaching people incredibly difficult concepts or debating some grand ideas.

4. Who’s your favorite fictional character (book, movie, or tv show…or all of them)

Sirius Black is my life. We’re not even going to talk about this. </3

5. What hobby do you enjoy the most?

Writing for you beautiful people! I feel so connected with everyone who reads my posts – those who leave me lovely messages and those who want to fight everything I am as a person. As long as we keep this conversation going, I’m a happy chappy.

6. What’s your favorite season and why?

I love me some Spring. You’ve got the cool remnants of winter and the comforting warmth of the sun waking up and preparing itself for summer. Everything comes back to life and the world is suddenly a beautiful place.

7. What do you like most about yourself (personality-wise)?

I think I’m pretty good at hitting the breaks on my spiralling and then going back to pick up the pieces and clean up the mess I’ve left behind. Sure, that doesn’t sound like the best way to go about things, but remaining persistent and full of hope keeps me going.

8. What’s one topic you wish you knew more about?

Just one?! Gosh. Everything. I want to know more about the philosophy of the ancients and the policies of governments around the world and the ways in which conflicting motivations drive humans and the best way to be open minded and why we get such visceral responses to things and how we’ve managed to come so far with our scientific advances. Like, how the hell do we make teeny tiny batteries and teeny tiny data stores?! Magic, I tell  you!

9. What’s something you would tell your 10-year-old self?

Sweetheart, those girls are scared and confused about why you seem to know so much about so many things. They tease you and push you around because it’s the only way that they know how to be in control. They can see the strength that you don’t even realise you have. Just keep moving forward. It’s going to be okay.

10. What’s your favorite quote?

I am going to cheat and say that it is this video. If anything could capture my feelings about the world, it would be this:

I nominate everyone who wants to share their life with me! Leave your answers in the comments below or write your own post.

Love to you and yours xx
