As you guys know, I got married in March of this year. The whole process was a bit of an ordeal and my new husband and I just could not deal with the process of organising a honeymoon on top of organising our wedding.
Instead, we decided to spend a couple of nights in a hotel in Sydney and then head back to Canberra. That turned into a couple of nights in Sydney and then a few more in the Parklands in the Blue Mountains.
For our Sydney stay we wanted something within driving distance to Western Sydney where the wedding was being held, something that had a nice view and room that was comfortable and affordable. Of course, in Sydney, that’s basically asking for too much.
But we found it in the Meriton Suites in North Sydney.
For a surprisingly decent price we got ourselves a beautiful room with views of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House. How lovely! It was by far the cheapest hotel room in Sydney with a view of the Harbour.
We were greeted by hotel staff in a stunning, modern and very inviting lobby. We checked in to a One Bedroom Luxury Suite – and it was truly luxurious. I clearly hadn’t paid attention to what we were booking and I was thrilled to see that the room came with a full kitchen and laundry, separate living and dining area, a separate bedroom, a separate bathroom and free wifi! This wasn’t just a hotel room – it was a little apartment!
We were so, so comfortable. We found ourselves dumping our bags on the extremely generous floorspace and crashing into the very comfy couch immediately. The photos on the website are exactly what you get in person.
We enjoyed a gigantic, comfortable bed that made it easy to wake up to catch the sunrise over the Sydney skyline.
Although there was no room service offered on this location, there was no shortage of great food nearby.
My darling husband went out to get us some dinner and came back with dinner AND Uncle Tetsu Cheesecake and I can tell you now that cheesecake and cup of coffee will warm the heart of any new bride, that’s for sure!
There’s also parking onsite for $25 a night which is extra convenient.
Although we didn’t make use of these facilities (because who needs entertainment when you just got married) there was also a heated pool, a sauna and fitness centre in the building.
This hotel room made the perfect I-just-need-to-lay-down-for-a-minute de-stress stop before heading off to the Blue Mountains. I think that the room would be excellent for absolutely any purpose but I am extra excited about staying in a Meriton hotel again for a business trip – it’s like a little home away from home and I love it.
P.S This is not a sponsored post – we just looooooved our stay and wanted to share!
How luxurious! I’m jealous 😉 Hotels in the US aren’t nearly as good!

Hahaha we seem really good at making hotels work well! Although; we’ve definitely been in some shocking places that seem to have good reviews? We’re starting to realise that bad reviews are almost never approved.
