The sun is shining and spring is in the air! Which means it’s time to freshen up your wardrobe with a brighter, lighter feel.
I absolutely love the spring vibe – with beautiful flowers all around, bright colours and just the right hint of warmth, it’s the perfect time to refresh your hijab styles, and try out some wonderfully stylish new looks. Read on to discover some great new trends to inspire you!
Keep it crisp in denim
Denim is a style staple whatever the season, but it’s even better in spring because it’s the perfect layer to keep you warm from a slight breeze, without feeling too bulky! Cropped denim jackets look great worn with a flowing maxi skirt or over a long dress, or for a more urban inspired look, try wearing a denim shirt dress over slim trousers.
Keep the look polished and crisp, by working with a shade of denim that enhances the look. Try faded, vintage washed pale blues with a crisp white hijab scarf for a breezy day time outfit, or give it a darker twist by choosing a deep indigo denim, worn with a classic black hijab and gold accessories.
Pretty in pastels
Pastels are the most perfect shade for spring – think powdery blues, blush pinks and warm, sunshine yellows. Great for adding a pop of colour to your outfit after the dreariness of winter, they’re also subtle enough to wear for work or an everyday outfit, without feeling like you just got splashed by a rainbow.
To work the pastel hijab look, try a tonal outfit, by sticking to a single colour in different shades or hues. Pair a pale blush coloured chiffon hijab draped softly around your head and neck in a loose, layered style, and wear it over a nude coloured kimono jacket, or a long, floaty maxi dress for a really pretty look.
Soft layers
While the sun may be out, it can still get a little cool out there, so we won’t be packing away our layers just yet! Spring layers means it’s time to get creative with lightweight cardigans, shirts and dresses that can be effortlessly combined together without adding bulk.
Create a unique layered look by contrasting prints and patterns – try a bold patterned hijab scarf over a floral printed dress, and bring the look together by accentuating key colours in your outfit with your accessories.
Gorgeous corals
Coral is one of my favourite colours for the season – with a hint of pink and orange, it’s perfectly in between those softer romantic shades, and something a little bolder. Add a touch of coral to a nude or neutral coloured outfit to make it stand out and feel fresher.
Why not try wearing a coral coloured hijab with an all-white outfit, for a fabulously spring-ready vibe?
Try a turban twist
The turban hijab look is incredibly fresh and contemporary, and looks great with anything from a tailored, professional outfit for work, to a glammed up night time look. For spring, try wearing the turban with an edgier, streetwear inspired look – your favourite tee and jogging pants with a classic sports jacket bring a tomboyish edge, while heels add a touch of flair to the outfit. Finish it off with a neat turban in a patterned scarf with a contrasting loose woven scarf loosely draped around your neck, for a modest yet stylish result.
